Lioness 05:00
Lioness We are shaped by your slumber Etched in a past of knowing Of knowing who you were So faintly tangible in memory Beyond the anecdotal history Her… Her cells reside inside this body At least as long as I look up At the lioness Oooooo At the lioness Lioness In your absence we are primed for loss Three years of timelessness Of knowing who you were No longer moisturised by novelty I’m finding sentience in lily trees Her… Translucent palms will always carry me The very fabric of the earth Woven from a star that never leaves Suspended into view on remembering To put out the light And look up And look up And look up And look up And look up At the lioness Aaaaaaah At the lioness Aaaaaaah At the lioness Oooooooo Oooooooo Ooooooooooo

Faces 06:35
Focused on survival As the world around you fell I know you did the best you could Too loud Without the softness of her voice Mobilised the moving on Until the things were gone Packaged into consequence Where did they go? The walls hold different faces now Same frames but different faces now Gentle empathising As the world around you fell I know you did the best you could Too loud Without the chance to keep her voice Lost inside the moving on Now all the things are gone Packaged into consequence Where did they go? The walls hold different faces now Same frames but different faces now Packaged into consequence Where did they go? The walls hold different faces now Same frames but different faces now Packaged into consequence Where did they go? The walls hold different faces now Same frames but different faces now

about

"Primed For Loss" is the sophomore EP from Bristol-based producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist t l k. Written and recorded between Bristol and on Residency at Snape Maltings, "Primed For Loss" forms t l k’s second body of work, exploring the nuance of maternal loss in early childhood. A bold departure from debut EP Strength In Tenderness, the project is instrumentally rooted in a more contemporary classical sound, blending t l k’s early influences with the ethereal, ambient electronic palette they’ve become distinctly known for. These worlds coalesce into something vulnerable and powerful, capturing the disorientation of intangible memory, recognising the omnipresent, ever-evolving nature of grief, and honouring the lessons of legacy.

To mark the release of Primed For Loss, t l k will be embarking on their debut UK tour in May-June. Tour dates can be found at tlkvox.com.

The EP releases 24/05/23 on Ishmael Ensemble's label, Severn Songs.
